Her favorite areas of expertise are drawing with pastels and acrylic painting. Rachel's work is displayed in numerous Texas homes. Rachel is a member of the Wichita Falls Art Association, Junior League of Wichita Falls, taught as secondary art educator at Christ Academy private school in Wichita Falls for seven years, as well as an acrylics instructor at the Kemp Center for the Arts for the last six years. I began working at How Great Thou Art in August of 2012. I fell in love with art when I was just 7 years old. That is when I began taking painting lessons from our neighbor. We mainly learned how to paint landscapes. I entered my first painting in an art show and actually won first place. The thing I love most about art is that there is no right or wrong way to create art. I graduated from Holliday High School and began studying art at Midwestern State University. I eventually graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a Minor in English. I am currently a 3rd Grade teacher at Christ Academy. I have also taught at City View ISD and have taught continuing education courses for Vernon College and Abilene Christian University. I love teaching art classes and seeing how excited kids get when they see their finished painting. I live in Wichita Falls with my husband, Kevin. my son, Kraig and three cats. My favorite thing to do is watch my son play sports. I also love reading, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends.
